Cub Weekend Programme
The Scout Brigade of Fort George is an International Scout Camporee, sponsored by the Greater Toronto Council of Scouts Canada, and which is historically themed to the War of 1812 era of our history. It has operated annually since 1984 and last year had a registration of 3,036 youth and leaders. Its purpose is to give Scouting youth a living history lesson about the War of 1812 and the formation of the Niagara Frontier.
In 2009 at the 26th annual campaign camporee of the Scout Brigade, (September 18th – 20th) we are again offering a weekend experience for Scouting youth of Cub age (8–10 yrs).
Open to Cubs from Scouts Canada and Cub Scouts from the Boy Scouts of America, the weekend will provide these youngsters with an opportunity to visit Fort George and the historical area around it, participate in the Scout Brigade Parade into the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and do other scheduled activities on the same grounds that held the 8th World Scout Jamboree in 1955.
