Do Your Best!
The
Wolf Cub program is designed to interest boys and girls, 8-10 years
old, and is based upon the exciting Jungle Book story by Rudyard Kipling.
Many characters (such as Akela the old grey wolf, and Baloo the
teaching bear) are built into the program, and threads of the
Jungle Book theme run through the varios games and activities. Cubs
work in small groups called sixes and learn to "DO THEIR BEST" in
games and sports, and activities such as crafts, music, acting, camping
and hiking. The Cub program extends into the community through visits
to such places as Fire Departments, libraries and farms. Individual
achievement is recognized through simple awards called badges and
stars.
Cubbing
is built around a lively variety of games, crafts, music, storytelling,
play acting, spiritual fellowship and the outdoors. The Cub program
focuses around six activity areas: The Natural World, Outdoors, Creative
Expression, Healthy Living, Home and Community, and Canada and the
World. Individual interests and skill are recognized through simple
awards.
The
outdoors is an essential part of the Cub program. Weekend events,
hikes and overnight camping opportunities round out the Cubbing experience.
Cubs
meet in a group called a pack. The pack is split into smaller groups
called sixes. There is one leader for every six Cubs. Each Cub learns
a promise, law and motto to help guide their personal development.
Wolf
Cub Promise:
I promise to do my best
To love and serve God, to do my duty to the Queen;
To keep the law of the Wolf Cub pack,
And
to do a good turn for somebody every day.
Wolf
Cub Law:
The Cub respects the Old Wolf,
The Cub respects himself/herself.
Wolf
Cub Motto:
Do Your Best
The
110th Toronto Scout Group currently does not operate a Cub Pack. We
would like to develop a Pack.
What
does it take to have a Cub Pack within a Scout Group. It takes youth.
It also takes their parents to become Leaders and Parent volunteers.
The
110th is fortunate to have a couple of experienced Scouters that are
willing to help volunteers join our Scouting Family and develop a
Cub Pack.
Don't
hestitate to contact us if you have any questions or interest in Cubs.
We would like you to join our Group.
